St. Francis Xavier’s church, Mannarappara, Kuruppanthara is a catholic parish comprising 950 families with a population of 5060 faithful. It has plot areas of 120, 75 sq. ft. It is one of the 169 parishes of the diocese of Pala. It spread over an area of 3 sq.kilometers. The first church was built in 1871 and was reconstructed in 1930 and recently in 2002 when Rev. Fr. George Niravath was the parish priest. The vicar and assistant vicar of the parish are Rev. Fr. Joseph Kariappuram and Rev. Fr. Thomas Kalachirayil respectively.
         
The parish has two filial stations with regular Sunday mass namely the church of our lady perpetual succour at Eravimangalam and that our lady of Fathima  at Manjoor South.The church at Eravimangalam is being reconstructed since August 2007. The reconstruction work has progressed up to lintel level. The budget for reconstruction is Rs.40 lakhs. The work is expected is be completed by August 2009. There are six more chapels situated in different parts of the parish.
         
The present presbytery of the parish was built in 1945 by Rev. Fr. Mathew Vazhuthanappallil. The parish owns a spacious parish hall built in 2000 by Rev. Fr. Joseph Puthenpura with a plinth area of 3928 sq. ft.
         
The parish runs a lower primary school established in (1909) a high school (1968) and a vocational higher secondary school (2001). A Carmelite convent established in 1969 helps the parish in its various pastoral activities.

The main feast of the parish is that of the patron St. Francis Xavier and is solemnly celebrates on 3rd December every year with the help of voluntary sponsors.
